The browser’s built-in AAC or Opus decoder doesn’t know a damn thing about HotAudio’s proprietary encryption scheme. It only speaks standard codecs. The decryption must happen in JavaScript before the data is handed to the browser.
At its core, a stream is just a sequence of data that arrives over time. You don't have all of it at once. You process it incrementally as it becomes available.
